Corneal Topography Interpretation for Optometrists

The course was taught by Mtro. Omar Santana (specialist in contact lens fitting and with extensive experience in teaching). The first edition was in March 2021, for this edition we decided to extend the course to 4 hours, so that the attendees could get the best from the shared knowledge.

We learned to interpret corneal maps, scales and surface descriptors, as well as to detect different pathologies through corneal topography.

 

The Theory Behind Fitting Rigid Contact Lenses

Dr. Rufino Díaz and Lic. Iran Robles Gutiérrez shared a useful quantitative analysis in the adaptation of rigid contact lenses related to the selection of the base curve from the results of the shape of the cornea.

Glaucoma from the Optometric Clinic

In most cases, glaucoma has no symptoms until the disease is advanced. In this 2-hour session, the Optometrist Abraham de Luna presented the key aspects of this disease, to understand it and diagnose it in time.

Taught by Alicia Vázquez Mendoza, Ph.D. in Biology, in which we learned to identify the causes of Dry Eye and to understand the pathology from a multidisciplinary perspective in order to provide an appropriate treatment for our patient.
